NEW! 4th Monday of every month from 6:30- 9pm. Join us for open mic and jamming We had a great first try out at the Southwestern Yacht Club on Shelter Island on February 20, 2023. Lots of pickers and listeners were in attendance enjoying the beuatiful venue, great food and outstanding service. A show of hands vote gave strong endorsement So, we have a new 4th Monday of the Month event scheduled at the Southwestern Yacht Club!. See details at right. Open to SDBS members and their guests

Third Monday Instructed Slow Jam!. The 3rd Monday Slow Jam is meeting in person on the 3rd Monday of the month at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 4011 Ohio St., San Diego, CA 92104.  For info. Email Mary Jane for the latest.

SDBS sponsors an instructed slow jam on the 3rd Monday of every month. The sessions are held at Our Savior Lutheran Church at the corner of Lincoln and Ohio in North Park (4011 Ohio St, San Diego, CA 92104). The sessions are an hour and a half structured slow jam learning experience from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm led Mary Jane Cupp and special guest teachers, with guidance from music teacher Janet Beazley. The fee is $5 per session for SDBS members and $10 for non-members (you can join SDBS on site). For more information on the slow jam (photo below), or to sign up,

OPEN MIC SIGNUP

Sign up here for open mic at the SDBS regular 2nd and 4th Monday events. Public welcome, but please bring your bluegrass material. These are open mics for acoustic music honoring the bluegrass genre. 10-20 minute slots, or shorter, are available. Sign up in advance by email here: email for priority, or space permitting, sign up on site. Admission: free; donations suggested.

Monthly: Board of Directors meetings. Meetings are virtual through Zoom. If you would like to participate online, email Board Prez Mark Pullin. Board meetings are held once a month on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. SDBS Special Events

SDBS presents a variety of special concerts and events throughout the year, including: Bluegrass Day at the Fair. WE'RE BACK! Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 11, 2023 from noon to 5 pm on the beautiful Paddock Stage. We will post program information as it is developed, so check back!

The Summergrass festival (3rd weekend in August, (August 18-20, 2023); occasional campouts, plus periodic concerts of nationally recognized touring bands. SDBS also co-sponsors or supports many bluegrass-related events, including the Santee Wine & Bluegrass Festival, bluegrass acts at the Belly Up, a series of performances at County and City libraries, and the "Bluegrass & Beyond" concerts at the Del Mar Town Hall, sponsored by the Del Mar Foundation.
